1. Acceptance
By creating an account, connecting a provider or Search Console property, purchasing a plan, or using RankTwig, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you use RankTwig for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
2. What RankTwig provides
RankTwig provides SEO intelligence and decision-support software based on data and actions available to your workspace. Depending on your plan and current product availability, features can include read-only Google Search Console reporting, Search Score, managed AI Visibility research, deterministic opportunity and decline signals, Page Investigations, bounded technical crawling, Page Battle, Content Briefs, URL Groups, exports, optional BYOK AI analysis, and RankTwig MCP access.
Feature availability depends on the entitlements enabled for your workspace. Demo, preview, marketing, documentation, or roadmap content does not override the limits or availability shown in the production product and on the Pricing page.
3. Your account, workspace, and connected sites
You are responsible for your account, the people you authorize to use it, and for ensuring that you are authorized to connect each Search Console property, domain, URL, provider credential, or other resource you use with RankTwig. You must not use RankTwig to obtain or expose data you are not entitled to access.
Google authentication and Search Console authorization remain subject to Google's terms and policies. RankTwig requests basic Google account information for authentication and read-only Search Console access for connected properties. RankTwig does not use that Search Console permission to modify your property. Our handling of Google account and API data is described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for keeping your account, connected-provider credentials, MCP keys, and access codes secure and for promptly revoking or reporting access you believe is compromised.
4. Managed AI Visibility
AI Visibility is a RankTwig-managed research feature and is separate from BYOK AI. RankTwig may automatically prepare an initial AI Visibility baseline for a connected site as part of the product experience. Later scans or refreshes may be limited by plan allowances, product safeguards, provider availability, or reasonable cost controls.
To build the baseline, RankTwig may derive a bounded set of buyer prompts from public site context and a limited portion of authorized Search Console query evidence, then use third-party AI and research providers to run those prompts against supported AI surfaces such as ChatGPT and Gemini. The Privacy Policy describes the relevant data flows.
AI Visibility is a sampled measurement, not an exhaustive census of every prompt, user, model version, location, account state, personalization setting, or future AI answer. AI systems and provider results can change without notice. A score, mention, citation, competitor appearance, or absence in one saved baseline is not a guarantee that another person will receive the same answer.
RankTwig may change the prompt methodology, weighting, provider, supported engine, sample size, scoring formula, or refresh cadence to improve reliability, control abuse or costs, or adapt to third-party platform changes. When a score methodology changes materially, historical scores may not be directly comparable.
5. BYOK AI, model output, and MCP
RankTwig may let you connect your own API credential for a supported AI provider. You are responsible for the provider account, provider charges, provider terms, usage limits, and the models you choose. RankTwig may show estimated model costs before or after an action, but estimates can differ from the amount a provider ultimately bills.
AI output can be incomplete, incorrect, stale, or unsuitable for your situation. RankTwig's evidence checks are designed to reduce unsupported claims, not to make model output infallible. You remain responsible for reviewing any recommendation before acting on it.
If your plan includes MCP, you may create credentials that allow compatible clients to request authorized RankTwig evidence. You are responsible for the MCP client you choose, the permissions you grant, and the handling of RankTwig responses after they are transmitted to that third-party client. Revoke keys you no longer use.
6. Crawling, public pages, and competitor analysis
When RankTwig offers a crawl or comparison action, it is intended for publicly reachable web pages and operates with bounded safety rules. You must not use RankTwig to bypass authentication, access controls, robots restrictions, network protections, or other technical measures, or to target private networks or systems without authorization.
Publicly accessible pages can contain inaccurate, copyrighted, personal, or otherwise protected material. RankTwig's observation or comparison of a public page does not give you ownership of that material or permission to copy it. You are responsible for how you use third-party content and for respecting applicable rights.
A blocked, unavailable, rate-limited, or technically unusual page may produce a partial, stale, or withheld result rather than a fabricated comparison.
7. Plans, quotas, billing, and lifetime deals
Plan limits shown on the Pricing page or inside the product govern connected sites, workflow actions, AI Visibility refreshes, retained results, active MCP keys, exports, and other plan-gated capabilities. RankTwig may use reasonable rate limits, storage caps, retention caps, anti-abuse controls, provider-spend safeguards, or circuit breakers even where a limit is not presented as a simple monthly counter.
Purchases may be processed by Paddle or another checkout provider identified during checkout. Where Paddle acts as Merchant of Record or authorized reseller, the purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms, tax handling, payment processing, and privacy practices presented at checkout. RankTwig may receive transaction, customer, subscription, and status metadata needed to activate and maintain your plan.
Third-party AI or provider costs are separate when a feature is explicitly BYOK. Managed RankTwig features, including an included AI Visibility baseline or refresh allowance, remain subject to the limits and safeguards stated in the product or plan.
A RankTwig lifetime deal, when offered, is a one-time purchase for the listed RankTwig entitlements for the commercial lifetime of the RankTwig service. It does not mean unlimited usage, unlimited storage, unlimited provider or API spend, unlimited refreshes, or a guarantee that every future feature or third-party integration will be included or remain unchanged forever. Published limits, reasonable security and abuse protections, infrastructure safeguards, and these Terms continue to apply.
If checkout, taxes, refunds, marketplace terms, or additional purchase terms are presented at the time of purchase, those transaction-specific terms also apply. Where RankTwig publishes a separate Refund Policy, that policy applies to eligible direct purchases as described there.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use RankTwig to:
- access another person's or organization's data, account, site, credential, or private system without authorization;
- probe, disrupt, overload, scrape at abusive scale, reverse engineer where prohibited, or interfere with RankTwig infrastructure;
- circumvent quotas, refresh allowances, storage limits, billing controls, authorization checks, rate limits, spend safeguards, or security controls;
- upload, connect, or provide credentials you do not have permission to use;
- use crawling or comparison features to bypass access controls, target private networks, distribute malware, or facilitate unlawful intrusion;
- use the service to violate applicable law, sanctions, export controls, privacy rights, intellectual-property rights, or other third-party rights; or
- misrepresent RankTwig outputs as guaranteed Google rankings, guaranteed AI citations, or official statements from Google, OpenAI, Gemini, or another provider.
9. Your data and content
You retain your rights in the data and content you provide to RankTwig. You give RankTwig a limited, non-exclusive right to host, copy, process, transform, cache, and transmit that data only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the user-facing service, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for data, credentials, URLs, content, and instructions you submit. RankTwig's handling of personal information and Google API data is described in the Privacy Policy.
10. RankTwig intellectual property and feedback
RankTwig and its licensors retain all rights in the service, software, design, branding, documentation, scoring methods, workflows, and other RankTwig materials except for your data and third-party materials. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose while your account is authorized and in good standing.
If you voluntarily provide product suggestions or feedback, you allow RankTwig to use that feedback to improve the product without an obligation to compensate you, provided we do not publicly attribute private feedback to you without permission.
11. Third-party services and names
RankTwig depends on third-party services such as Google Search Console, hosting/database providers, payment processors, AI model providers, AI visibility research providers, and MCP clients. Their availability, APIs, outputs, prices, rate limits, terms, and policies can change independently of RankTwig. RankTwig is not responsible for a third party's service being unavailable or changing its behavior.
Google, Google Search Console, OpenAI, ChatGPT, Gemini, Anthropic, Claude, Paddle, DataForSEO, and other third-party product names or trademarks belong to their respective owners. References describe interoperability, measured surfaces, or service-provider relationships and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
12. No ranking, traffic, citation, or professional guarantee
RankTwig provides analysis and software tools, not legal, financial, tax, accounting, or other regulated professional advice and not a guarantee of rankings, traffic, revenue, indexing, AI mentions, AI citations, search-engine treatment, or business outcomes. Search engines and AI systems are controlled by third parties and can change at any time.
Deterministic labels such as “opportunity,” “striking distance,” “declining,” “Search Score,” or “AI Visibility Score” identify RankTwig-defined signals or measurements. They are decision-support tools, not promises that a particular action will improve performance or that a result will repeat.
13. Availability and product changes
We may improve, replace, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of RankTwig as the product, security requirements, provider APIs, legal requirements, economics, or infrastructure change. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption to paid users, but no online service can guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Descriptions of future product direction or roadmap items are not binding delivery commitments. Features are considered available when they are enabled in the production product for the applicable workspace or plan.
14. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to protect RankTwig, other users, providers, or legal compliance, including suspected abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, security threats, unpaid or reversed purchases, or repeated attempts to bypass plan or provider-spend controls.
You can stop using RankTwig at any time and can use available deletion controls or contact us about account-level deletion. Termination does not automatically erase obligations or records that must reasonably survive, such as payment, security, dispute, intellectual-property, or legal-compliance provisions.
15. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RankTwig is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties that every analysis, score, provider, crawl, integration, AI answer, source, citation, comparison, or recommendation will be complete, accurate, current, uninterrupted, or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups or records where the information is important to your business. RankTwig is not designed to be your sole archival system for Search Console, AI-provider, billing, or website data.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RankTwig is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, consequential, or lost-profit/revenue damages arising from your use of the service, third-party providers, search-engine or AI-system changes, data loss, or actions you take based on an analysis.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RankTwig's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount actually paid for RankTwig service access during the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US $100. This cap does not apply to liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as RankTwig, our providers, or applicable requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes may also be surfaced in the product or otherwise communicated where appropriate or required.
